According to today's statistical flash news of the General Administration of Customs, in the first three quarters of this year, China's textile and clothing exports were 248.35 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.1% (a year-on-year increase of 10.4% in RMB). Among them, textile exports were 114.33 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 8.7% (a yearon-year increase of 9.7% in RMB); Clothing exports were US$134.02 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.4% (11.1% year-on-year in RMB terms).


Since the second half of this year, affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, high inflation in many countries and the adjustment of monetary and fiscal policies of various countries, the purchasing power and consumption structure of major overseas markets have changed significantly, and our industry has faced greater pressure to maintain export growth. In September, China's textile and clothing exports were 28.05 billion US dollars, down 3.7% year-on-year (up 0.8% year-on-year in RMB). Among them, textile exports were 12.07 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%; Garment exports were US$15.98 billion, down 4.4% year-on-year.


China's textile industry's export trade volume to major international markets has maintained steady growth this year. According to Chinese customs data, in the first eight months, China exported 38.58 billion US dollars of textiles and clothing to the United States, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%; Exports to ASEAN amounted to US$36.94 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.3%. Among ASEAN member countries, China's exports of textiles and garments to Vietnam amounted to US$12.06 billion, accounting for 32.7%, a year-on-year increase of 4.0%; During the same period, our industry's exports to Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar all increased by more than 40%. In January ~ August, China's exports of textiles and clothing to the EU were 34.04 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%. Among them, exports to Italy and Spain increased by about 25%. In addition, exports of textiles and clothing to Japan amounted to US$12.96 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%.


Since the official entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) this year, member countries have actively implemented the work to promote the steady growth of intraregional trade. In January~ August, China's exports of textiles and garments to RCEP member countries were 62.15 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. At the same time, in the first eight months of this year, our industry exported 83.53 billion US dollars to countries along the "Belt and Road", an increase of 18.3%.
